I feel like we’re pretty spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing where to head for lunch in Newcastle at the minute. We’ve been inundated with new restaurant openings lately. Thats probably the reason we’re a little late to the party when it came to trying out Zaap. But we finally managed to fit in a visit and boy were we impressed!
As soon as you’re shown to your table you instantly forget you’re in newcastle! The hustle and bustle of the really is so authentic and was my favourite thing of the whole experience.
We visited at lunchtime on a Saturday so as you can imagine it was pretty busy but we still managed to get seated no problem and the service was speedy!
Now onto the food, I went for the Pad See Aew with chicken, a Malaysian take on pad Thai that was just yummy. Then a side of steamed veggies to go with it. All were super delicious. To be honest I’m not really a lover of Thai food but this really was nice and not too fragrant which was right up my street!
Ryan (my date for the afternoon!) went for the crispy belly pork which came with the most amazing lime dipping sauce.
Then to share we ordered the corn cakes which were too yummy. Really you can’t go wrong with deep fried corn can you!?
I was really impressed with Zaap and just loved the feel of the place, I’ll definitely be heading back soon for more of those corn cakes! And also a ride in this little car…!
